Elavancherry Grama Panchayat, located in Nenmara block of Chittoor taluk of Palakkad district, was formed in 1963 with an area of ​​32.18 sq km.

This panchayat, which falls in the Malanad region according to its geography, is currently divided into 15 wards.

The main crops here are paddy, ginger, groundnut, rubber, coconut, etc. The main water sources are the Ikshu Nadi, Gayatripuzha, Pothundi-Chuliyar canals and ponds.

Although there are no large industries, several small industries and dairy cooperatives focused on the coir and dairy sectors are actively operating here.

Several places of worship, including the Perungottakavu Bhagavathy temple, and traditional art forms such as Pallukali and Kanyarkali, are part of the religious harmony culture here.

There are about nine schools including Karingulam Thunchan College and Vattekkad Government UPS, and cultural centers including the EMS Library.
